The Chamonix Zermatt glacier hiking 7 days course
is a great way to make your first step in the mountaineering
world. During this Chamonix Zermatt Haute Route, you will cross
some of
the more beautifull part of the Alps .

| Sunday |
Meeting point at Chamonix
train station at 12.30 pm. We will check all your gears
before to start this Chamonix Zermatt Haute Route . We
will take then the Tour lift to Charamillon pass Following
a footpath we will reach "Albert 1er" hut, height
8,865 feet. Night in the hut. The glacier hiking Chamonix
Zermatt Haute Route start !
Duration of walking: 3 hours. Length : 4 miles. Difference
of level : 2,789 feet up.

| Monday |
In the early morning we will start walking
on the glacier and we will cross the pass of Le Tour,
10,768 feet, on the Swiss border. We will walk on the
glacier of Trient, below the " Aiguilles Dorées
" At the end of the glacier a path will bring us
at the Breya chairlift. Without effort we will arrive
in Champex village, 4,724 feet. We will sleep at the Alpine
Club lodge,
Duration of walking: 6 hours. Length : 10 miles. Difference
of level : 1,902 feet up, 3,596 feet down.

| Thuesday |
By minibus we will reach the top of Mauvoisin
dam, 6,443 feet. Following a path we will arrive at the
end of afternoon at the Chanrion hut, 8,077 feet.
Duration of walking: 3 hours and a half. Length : 6 miles.
Difference of level : 2,218 feet up, 584 feet down.

| Wednesday |
Today we will to walk on the Otemma glacier
After four hours walking , we will reach the Chermotane
pass and then the Vignettes hut, 10,361 feet. It's the
first eagle nest of the Chamonix Zermatt Haute Route !
Duration of walking: 6 hours. Length : 9 miles. Difference
of level : 2,776 feet up, 492 feet down.

| Thursday |
Ascent of the Evêque pass (11,128
feet), on the Italian border. Descent of the High Glacier
of Arolla to Plans Bertol, 8,530 feet. Then a good footpath
goes up, following moraines ridges, till a small glacier,
and to the fixed ladders which give you the access to
Bertol hut, 10,863 feet, the other eagle nest of your
Chamonix Zermatt Haute Route .
Duration of walking: 7 hours. Length : 10 miles. Difference
of level : 3,770 feet up, 3,268 feet down.

| Friday |
Today you will climb the Tête Blanche,
12,218 feet. You will have the best view of Matterhorn,
Dent d'Hérens and Dentnorth face Mont-Blanc e.
The descent of Stöcki glacier will offer you few
jumps over crevasses ! Finally you will path will arrive
at the Schönbiel hut, 8,838 feet, the wiew on Matterhorn
North face is amazing
Duration of walking: 6 to 7 hours. Length : 9 miles. Difference
of level : 1,991 feet up, 4,016 feet down

| Saturday |
We will go down the Zmuttgletscher moraine.
Then a footpath going through many small pastures you
will see a lot of small chalets, and you will arrive in
the center of Zermatt, facing Matterhorn .
From there, a bus ride will bring us back to Chamonix
and to reality, filled with the memory of this beautiful
high alpine world, left behind. This the end of the Chamonix
Zermatt summer Haute Route !
Duration of walking: 3 to 4 hours. Length : 6 miles.
Difference of level : 3,570 feet down.
